Finish Strong

As many of you know, running has always been a passion of mine. From 5Ks to marathons, I’ve laced up my shoes and hit the pavement for many races over the years. In every race that I ever ran, I always strived for negative splits. For those unfamiliar, this means striving to run each mile faster than the one before, a strategy aimed at finishing strong. As a testament to this, I’ve even included my splits from the only marathon I’ve ever run.

Finishing strong is equally important here at ICES. We’ve journeyed through 170 days with our students. And now, with just 10 days left, it’s crucial that we end the year as strong as possible. Yes, the finish line may be in sight, and we’re all looking forward to summer, myself included. We still have more than 5% of our school year ahead of us. There’s still plenty of time where meaningful learning and growth can occur.

As we navigate these last few miles together, let’s remember the example we set for our students. Let’s show them what it means to push through fatigue and to finish strong in the classroom.
