OFFICIAL BIO:

Eric L. Long, Morgantown, is currently the assistant principal at Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar, Ind. Previously, he served as the dean of students at Center Grove Middle School Central in Greenwood, Ind. Prior to becoming an administrator, Eric taught second grade for three years; third grade for two years; and fourth grade high ability for three years. He is currently a member of the Leadership Johnson County Class of 2016, a 10-month program composed of one-day leadership forums designed to train and strengthen 21st century leaders.

Eric received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Franklin College in 2004 and his master’s degree in educational administration (Cohort 27) from Butler University in 2009. He also received his high ability license from Ball State University in 2011. He received the 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year Award at North Grove Elementary School and the Center Grove Community School Corporation’s 2007-2008 Outstanding Service Award.

He is active with the Heartland Church of Christ, where he serves as a deacon and teen leader. Eric and his wife, Carissa, have two sons, Andrew (13) and Aiden (7).

Eric was born in Martinsville in 1981.

    1. Lisa, thank you so much for the kind words. I can’t believe Ryan is 21 now. It is hard to believe the students in my first class are that old now. They grow up fast! Please tell him I said hello and that I hope he is doing well.
