Last week I shared a great commercial from Chick-Fil-A that came out during the 2020 holiday season. When trying to find that commercial to share, I also found their newest holiday commercial, The Whoopsery (you can watch it below).
In this commercial, CeCe accidentally breaks her Nana’s Christmas ornament. When trying to fix the ornament, Cece and Sam make their way to The Whoopsery. While there, the baker shares, “Here, every mix-up, blunder, and blooper is turned into something extraordinary.” The baker helps CeCe and Sam turn the broken ornament into a new ornament. When they share the ornament with CeCe’s mom, she says, “You didn’t fix it, you made it even better. You know Nana always did like to look on the sunny side.”
As educators, do you ever feel like we work in The Whoopsery? We should expect mix-ups, blunders, and bloopers, especially working with 4-8 year olds. How we handle these things with our students is what really matters. Hopefully our students feel safe enough in our school and classrooms to make mistakes and know that we will be there to help them through those mistakes each and every time. We are here to turn the unexpected into something wonderful!
“This holiday season, turn the unexpected into something wonderful.”
