For Everything There Is A Season
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer, © 2019
Life is full of change
If it wasn’t it would be so strange
Everything would remain the same
It would be like playing a boring game.
For everything, there is a season
And always a good reason
We may not see it now
But all progress it does allow
Imagine if no progress was made
If change just made us all afraid.
Alter your attitude and look for the good
Let things evolve as they should.
Change is hard. People say that change is one of the only things you can count on in life. Even though change is all around us and we know it’s always around the corner, it doesn’t make it any easier to deal with.
Tomorrow, I will start a new position as the principal at Indian Creek Elementary School and there will be a new coordinator here at The Academy. I know this change has a big impact. Teachers, staff, programs, students and parents are all impacted by this change. I know many people at both Indian Creek and The Academy who are nervous about what tomorrow will bring. I can tell you, I’m also nervous about what tomorrow holds.
One thing I know for certain is that this team will continue to be amazing advocates for students here. During times of change, it’s important to remember to focus on what you can control. You can control your actions and your attitude. Both of those things will be important moving forward. I have no doubt that you will keep making meaningful connections with these students and do what’s best for them each and every day.
With all that being said, I want to thank everyone at The Academy and Center Grove for welcoming me with open arms. I’ve learned so much from all of you in the last three years. We had some tough times and rough days, but we made it through. The reason we made it through was because we did it together. Keep working as a team and good things will continue to happen.
